Blue Monday


(Psalms 118:24 KJV) “This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”

Ever wake up on Monday morning thinking, “Oh I wish I could crawl back in bed and sleep till Tuesday?” I have had Monday’s just like that and I am sure that you probably had a few too.
But, what do we do about it? Do we crawl back in bed and give up? Or, do we get up and tackle the day ahead?

Easy said, but not always so easily done.

Here are several action plans to make your day better!

Begin in prayer, asking the Lord to give you a better outlook on the day. Attitude is everything! How you approach the day; how you approach an opportunity is a major portion of whether or not you will be successful. Ask the Lord to give you the right attitude for the day ahead.

Spend time in your Bible, read the Psalms or Proverbs for encouragement and wisdom.

Eat a good breakfast – better than I did this morning because I do not think that coffee and chip ahoys would be on my mother’s list as a good breakfast, even though there are eggs and flour in the cookies. I did go back and add a fried egg sandwich with a glass of milk.

Schedule your day to have both productive and free time. Everyone has to have time for themselves so they can recharge their life.

Enjoy and take time for your family and friends. Even if you are extremely busy, take time to send them an email, iMessage, text, or give them a call. Relationships are the most important aspect of our lives; do not neglect them.

And if all possible, when work is over, leave it there and enjoy the rest of the day.

Not everyday are we on top of the mountain, but everyday there is something that we can rejoice about, even it is only being alive to see our family and friends again. Enjoy the good parts of the day and ask God to give you the grace for the difficult parts.
