Taking for granted the gifts God gives to us means we no longer value their blessings in our lives. The gift of life, another day, another hour, and another minute is a precious opportunity we must not waste.
Our Bible verse for today is Psalms 118:24.
Psalms 118:24 KJV “This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”
Notice the Lord made the day; it is a gift from Him. We cannot make a day or add to our life by our own power; it is God’s gift to us. James shows us this in his epistle only if it is the Lord’s will we have another day.
James 4:14–15 KJV “4:14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
4:15 For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.”
So, how can I make the most of the day God gave to me?
1. Rejoice – be joyful for the day
2. Be glad – means to cheer up, glad for the day – everybody has difficult days and situations, but our heart’s attitude toward the day makes a tremendous difference in how we approach the day. Be cheerful about the day ahead.
3. Make the most of the opportunities the day presents.
4. Love and serve the Lord
If you are reading this article, God has given you another day. Praise and thank Him for this blessing!
