Scripture:

Proverbs 28:13 ESV “Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.”

1 John 1:9 ESV “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Psalm 32:5 ESV “¶ I acknowledged my sin to you, and I did not cover my iniquity; I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the LORD,” and you forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah”

Psalm 51:1–4 ESV “51:1 ¶ Have mercy on me, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy blot out my transgressions.

51:2 Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin!

51:3 ¶ For I know my transgressions, and my sin is ever before me.

51:4 Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight, so that you may be justified in your words and blameless in your judgment.”

Today’s Lesson:

When we hide our sins, it continues to destroy our heart and life. Our sins are a heavy weight. However, when we confess our sins to the Lord, He forgives and cleanses us. He lifts the burden from our hearts.

Question to consider:

Is there any sin in my life that I have not confessed to the Lord?

Do I need the Lord to open my eyes so I can see if there is anything in my life that I need to confess and repent?
